Gifford is proud to be Vermont’s first Critical Access Hospital — and first RAKA (Robotically-Assisted Knee Arthroplasty) program — to offer the TMINI® Miniature Robotic System for total knee replacement.
Why Have a TMINI® Robotic Procedure?
THINK Surgical’s TMINI® Miniature Robotic System uses state-of-the-art
technologies to help surgeons carry out a robotically-assisted procedure.
The TMINI System includes a handheld, wireless robotic handpiece. Throughout
the procedure, the TMINI handpiece operates under the control of your surgeon,
who holds it and guides it so that it becomes an intuitive extension of their skill.
The benefits of orthopedic robotics may include:
- Accuracy
- Recovery Time
- Surgical consistency
- Reduced pain after surgery
- Infection control
- Quality of care
- Reduced blood loss
- Soft tissue preservation

How it works:
By opting for a TMINI Robotic Procedure, your surgeon can confidently choose an
implant that’s right for you and develops a pre-operative surgical plan based on
a CT scan of your knee. During surgery, the TMINI System helps your surgeon to
accurately and precisely place your knee implant. The accuracy and precision may
affect how well and how swiftly you recover, helping you get back to what you love.
