RANDOLPH, Vt. — Gifford Health Care is pleased to welcome Antonio Ciccone, DO, MBA, a board-certified physician in both emergency medicine and family practice, to its Emergency Department.
Dr. Ciccone brings more than 25 years of clinical experience across emergency medicine, primary care, and leadership roles. He is residency trained in emergency medicine and also board certified in family practice, offering a comprehensive approach to patient care that bridges acute and ongoing health needs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ciccone has held a variety of clinical, academic, and leadership positions. He has served as an Emergency Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, and consultant across multiple healthcare organizations, while maintaining an active clinical practice. He has also been affiliated with academic medicine for more than two decades, contributing to the education of medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ciccone has been actively engaged in community education and outreach, delivering presentations on topics such as stroke recognition, preventive care, and understanding when to seek emergency services. He is committed to sharing knowledge broadly and supporting both patients and healthcare professionals.
Dr. Ciccone’s approach to care is grounded in respect, equity, and listening. He values the ability to care for all patients equally in the emergency setting and is particularly focused on ensuring patients feel heard and understood.
“I enjoy patient care most,” said Dr. Ciccone. “That’s why I went into medicine. It’s important to listen, to treat people with respect, and to provide the same level of care to everyone who comes through the door.”
Originally born in Italy and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Dr. Ciccone’s early life experiences helped shape his perspective on care and compassion in medicine.
He holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Dr. Ciccone looks forward to serving patients and the broader community at Gifford.
