After spending some time growing up in New Hampshire, Dr. Holman is excited to be returning to New England. Since 2001, Dr. Holman has spent most of her career in private practice with her husband and fellow Gifford general surgeon, Aleksandr Sokolovsky. From skin lesions, lumps, bumps, colon resections, thyroid and gallbladder, Dr. Holman has performed the gamut of general surgeries. However, her specialty is breast surgery, which includes biopsies, mastectomies and special reconstructive techniques.
“I want to see the patient from the beginning of the process, get to know them, and follow them through their recovery. My husband and I are big proponents of having a one-on-one relationship with the patient.”

“I’ve been lucky to have landed a career in a specialty I love, working alongside high quality people in a beautiful part of the world,” Dr. Keller says.
After her residency, Dr. Keller’s area of focus included a fellowship in ultrasound guided regional anesthesiology. A technique which means fewer side effects, less risk of anesthetic complications, and greater patient satisfaction. However, Dr. Keller says a general anesthetic is the best choice and she enjoys the challenge and honor of being in a position to work with patients and their families. Her goals are to come up with the best anesthetic plan, provide reassurance, and to get to know the individuals and the community better.

Dr. Raymond Leonard joined the anesthesiology team at Gifford in 2018. He finds performing regional anesthesia blocks using ultrasound guidance, the ability to have a patient emerge pain-free from surgery, and taking care of pediatric patients the most rewarding aspects of his work. A father of four, Dr. Leonard shared, “When my daughter Harper was 6 days old she underwent open-heart surgery. All went well and she is healthy and needs no further care. That experience drove home to me just how vulnerable we all can be at any time in our life. Sensitivity to the vulnerabilities we all have has made me a better physician.” He completed his residency at Tufts University-Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and is certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago in Illinois and a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Warren McDermott, DNP, has joined the Primary Care team at Gifford, seeing patients at Rochester Health Center and at the Post-Acute Care Clinic (PACC) in Randolph.
Warren, who is passionate about behavioral health and its influence on preventative medicine, says, “So much of preventative medicine really comes down to behavioral health, from dietary changes to exercise to substance use.” He describes his philosophy of care as one centered on motivational interviewing and trying to align with patients to help them make long-term behavioral changes. He cites smoking cessation as an example of when he might use this strategy of helping people find motivation while working on their terms to help them stop.
