RANDOLPH, Vt. — Gifford Health Care is pleased to welcome Betty McKinnell, APRN, FNP-C, to its primary care team. Betty will provide care at Gifford’s Chelsea Health Center on Mondays and at Berlin Health Center on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Betty is a family nurse practitioner with extensive experience caring for patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. She brings a strong background in primary care, urgent care, and community health, with a focus on building relationships and supporting whole-person health.
Betty currently volunteers as a provider at People’s Health & Wellness Clinic, where she provides primary care services to adults. Her work includes performing physical exams, prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, and coordinating referrals.
Earlier in her career, Betty practiced in a variety of clinical settings in Connecticut, including community health centers and retail clinics, where she provided episodic, chronic, and preventive care. She also spent 14 years as a visiting nurse in New Haven, Connecticut, delivering care to patients in their homes across a wide range of needs.
“I like getting to know people and their families,” Betty said. “That connection is an important part of helping people improve their health.”
Betty earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Quinnipiac University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Bridgeport. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner and holds active licensure in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Originally from Connecticut, Betty recently relocated to Vermont to be closer to family. She values the opportunity to practice in a rural community and to care for patients of all ages.
Outside of her clinical work, Betty is involved in her community and has previously served as medical staff on Star Island. She is also involved with the Green Mountain Embroiderers’ Guild.
