RANDOLPH, VT — Gifford Health Care is pleased to welcome Joshua Cascadden, PA-C, to its Emergency Department team in Randolph.
Joshua brings nearly 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and critical care, with a career focused on caring for patients in rural and critical access communities throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York.
A board-certified physician assistant in emergency medicine and hospital medicine, Joshua has extensive experience providing emergency and inpatient care, including advanced airway management, critical care procedures, and solo emergency department coverage in rural settings. His background includes leadership roles as Chief Physician Assistant at Springfield Hospital and emergency medicine and hospitalist work at Mount Ascutney Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Junction, and Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, New Hampshire.
Originally from northern New Hampshire, Joshua says his passion for rural medicine comes from the relationships built through caring for small communities over time.
“Taking care of the community that takes care of you has always been my theme,” said Joshua. “You develop relationships with patients and families over the years, and that sense of community becomes incredibly meaningful.”
Throughout his career, Joshua has focused on bringing both technical expertise and a personal approach to patient care.
“Every time I go into a room, it’s a blank slate,” he said. “One of the things I still find most rewarding is sitting down and listening to the human story.”
Joshua earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College, and a Master of Science in Health Sciences from Oceania University of Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Joshua enjoys coaching youth hockey, skiing, boating, and spending time outdoors with his two daughters and two Alaskan malamutes.
Joshua will provide care in Gifford’s Emergency Department in Randolph.
