RANDOLPH, Vt.— Shayne Foley, a physician assistant with diverse experience has joined Gifford Health Care’s family practice in Berlin.
Foley holds a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science from Springfield College, a master’s degree in biomechanics from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida and a master of science in physician assistant studies from the University of New England in Portland, Maine.
A Massachusetts native, Foley’s passion for wellness and a healthy, active lifestyle led him to the health care field. “Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in diverse healthcare settings, which has given me invaluable experience in managing a wide range of patient needs, including those of underserved and rural populations,” Foley explained.
Foley brings his patient-centered approach, ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and transparent communication to the Berlin Health Center where he will see patients of all ages. In Foley, patients will find a highly-educated, compassionate caregiver and open communicator. “I have open communication with my patients,” he says. “I listen and share my feedback with the goal of shared decision making.”
“I also really embrace a holistic perspective,” he says, noting he considers a patient’s emotional and spiritual well-being in addition to more common inquiries about diet and exercise.
Prior to joining Gifford, Foley worked at Springfield Medical Care Systems in Springfield, VT; Southern Maine Health Care Walk-In Clinic in Saco, ME; Maine General Hospital Express Care in Augusta, ME and Central Vermont Medical Center’s Family Medicine Clinic in Waitsfield.
