Industry experts will present on topics ranging from financial planning to navigating Medicare during “Transitioning Into Retirement,” a seminar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Strode Independent Living at Morgan Orchards in Randolph Center. Sponsored by Gifford, the seminar is free and open to the public and includes lunch.
Sessions and speakers are:
10 to 11 a.m.: Money Management with Jody Davignon CFA, CFP, a managing partner and owner of Farrow Financial, Inc. Davignon plans to draw from her nearly 20 years of experience at Farrow, where she is responsible for client relations, portfolio management, and financial planning.
11 a.m. to Noon: Health Insurance with Michele Packard of Health Connections, Gifford’s Affordable Care Program. Packard plans to discuss Medicare and program changes for 2019 as well as supplemental insurance and prescription benefit coverage.
Noon to 1 p.m.: Lunch
1 to 2 p.m.: Lifestyle Considerations with Milton Fowler, MD, of Gifford Primary Care. Fowler has clinical interests in adult medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, and palliative care. His portion of the seminar is designed to give future retirees a few things to think about as they start a new chapter in their lives, whether they plan to work part-time, travel, or take up a new hobby during retirement.
“Many of us are looking forward to retirement, yet we’re overwhelmed by planning for it—or retirement seems out of reach,” said Ashley Lincoln, Gifford’s director of development, public relations and marketing, on the inspiration for the seminar. “We thought it would be helpful to have some of our local experts come together to provide insights and answer questions about retirement, from financial to lifestyle considerations. All are welcome to join us, whether your retirement is imminent or many years in the future.”
Preregistration for “Transitioning Into Retirement” is required by Monday, Nov. 12, as space is limited. For more information and to register, call 802-728-2380 or email .
In addition to the seminar, participants are welcome to take a tour of Strode Independent Living after the scheduled sessions. For more information about the community, visit morganorchards.com.
