Our Leadership
Looking back at the past year, in preparation for our 113th Annual Meeting, we are struck by the spirit and dedication of our employees. They are the driving force behind our many wins and provide the strength to overcome our challenges. We are proud of their work, and honored to call them colleagues.
Their successes include our 2018 Spirit of the ADA Award; a Five-Star CMS rating for Menig; and the HPV Vaccine Is Cancer Prevention Champion Award, given to just 32 recipients nationally. These are but a few examples of their leadership. Our employees demonstrate daily, in ways large and small, their commitment to our patients, our community, and our organization.
Without a doubt, Gifford experienced significant challenges in 2018, most notably financial challenges that continue to take a heavy toll on health-care organizations across Vermont—and the country. Together we are confident we can overcome these challenges with the hard work and dedication that are hallmarks of Team Gifford. You can see our mission-driven response across our organization: in the cost-savings realized through a new partnership with Efficiency Vermont, in our investments in our Primary Care and General Surgery teams, and in our continued focus on community health outreach and partnership-building throughout the region.
“Healthier Together,” the theme of this report, is more than a mere catchphrase to describe the strategy behind our many partnerships in the communities we serve. It’s a promise we make to patients and families, to schools and senior centers, and to our employees. We are committed to working together to achieve our shared health-care goals, strengthen our communities, and ensure Gifford is here to serve central Vermont for generations to come. Thank you to all of you who partner with us in this good work.
