Work by West Brookfield Artist John Carvajal is on display in the Gifford Gallery through December 13, 2017. The playful cartoons in this exhibit include oil on board, graphic and watercolor, and ink and watercolor pieces.
John Carvajal is an international exhibiting and award winning cartoonist He grew up in Florida in the Tampa Bay area, where he graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design. He later moved to Vermont to attend the Center for Cartoon Studies, where he received his MFA.
In an artist’s statement he writes that he is continuously exploring short and long form narratives in his work, and will be traveling to Japan for three months in the spring, where he plans to expand his visual vocabulary.
This exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will be displayed through December 13, 2017. The gallery is located just inside the hospital’s main entrance at 44 S. Main St. (Route 12) in Randolph. Call Gifford at (802) 728-7000 for more information.
