Dr. Anne Viselli treats women’s pelvic floor and incontinence issues
Dr. Anne Viselli specializes in the evaluation and treatment of disorders of the pelvic floor, with particular emphasis on urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pain disorders. She offers innovative nonsurgical options as well as minimally invasive surgery for these conditions.
Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty board-certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, she comes to Gifford after 11 years in private practice.
“It is reported that as many as two in four women have some element of incontinence and /or prolapse,” she said. “That is a very large number, and as a consequence many women are affected by what can be a debilitating condition. I especially enjoy helping to restore their quality of life.”
Dr. Viselli received a B.A. in Biology and in Psychology from Bucknell University, and a Doctor of Medicine from the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Brown University’s Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, and was a Fellow in Urogynecology at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), the International Continence Society (ICS) and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH).
For 12 years she was on the clinical faculty at Fletcher Allen Health Care and on the academic faculty at the University of Vermont School of Medicine. She opened her own practice in 2005, but missed being part of a community and looks forward to her work with other providers and patients at Gifford.
