RANDOLPH, Vt.— Rebecca Kincaid, MD is adding her knowledge and expertise to an already talented and experienced team of pediatricians at Gifford. Dr. Kincaid is a native of Indianapolis, IN and comes to Gifford after spending the last six years working at an outpatient practice in Utah. She is currently seeing new patients at Gifford.
Dr. Kincaid received her MD at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and was a Pediatric Resident at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. After a recent visit with a physician friend in Rutland County, Dr. Kincaid and her husband decided they wanted to move to Vermont. She fell in love with Gifford’s feeling of community and also formed a quick bond with the other members of the pediatric team.
Dr. Kincaid’s philosophy is to not only get to know the patient, but also the whole family. Forming a bond with the family leads to a strong level of trust between Dr. Kincaid and her patients. She also enjoys working with teenagers and enjoys the challenge of getting them comfortable enough to talk about the real issues they’re experiencing.
“There’s a lot of hard stuff kids are going through these days, especially with social media,” Dr. Kincaid said. “Everybody needs at least one trusted adult they can ask anything to and not feel judged or like they’re going to get in trouble. To be that extra trusted adult in their life is an honor and a privilege.”
In her spare time, Dr. Kincaid enjoys skiing and camping with her husband and two children.
