New in 2021: Two grant cycles
Continuing its longtime commitment to community outreach, Gifford Health Care maintains the partnership with RiseVT, a statewide movement working within communities to help Vermonters embrace healthier lifestyles, improve quality of life, and lower health-care costs. As a RiseVT partner, Gifford will focus on helping individuals and families embrace a healthy lifestyle where they live, work, learn and play.
RiseVT’s strategy includes seeking out wellness opportunities already underway in Orange County, spreading the word, and offering resources to reduce barriers to participation. Resources include “Amplify Grants,” awarded to local organizations whose projects align with RiseVT’s mission to make the healthy lifestyles accessible for all community members.
Applications are now available for the Spring-Summer 2021 grant cycle. All grant applications must:
- Work to address one or more of the CDC strategies to reduce obesity
- Increase access and reduce barriers to physical activity, healthy food, and/or physical, social, and emotional wellbeing
Awards amounts are up to $1,500. Past recipients have been funded for a variety of projects from school gardens, community fitness events, cooking classes, and walking and biking trail improvements. Towns served under RiseVT Orange County include Braintree, Brookfield, Randolph, Randolph Center, East Randolph, Chelsea, and Tunbridge. We strongly encourage all organizations that work to promote the health and wellbeing of their community’s members apply.
