RANDOLPH, Vt.— Carolyn Zuaro’s figurative art lines the walls at the Gifford Galley this month. Zuaro was born at Gifford and grew up in Northfield. She credits her childhood in central Vermont for shaping her free spirit, inquisitive nature and artistic identity.
At thirteen, Zuaro attended her first figure drawing class at Studio Place Arts in Barre. She focused on figurative art in college and grad school, eventually teaching figure drawing to Undergraduates at SUNY Albany and community courses at Burlington City Arts. Zuaro currently is a public school art teacher in southern Vermont.
“Most of the pieces in the Gifford Gallery were completed within the past few years,” Zuaro said. “They represent ideas surrounding current events cast in a hopeful and optimistic light.”
Zuaro’s art currently displayed at the Gifford Art Gallery is for sale.
