Many independent seniors are often forced to leave their communities to find suitable housing options as they grow older. To respond to this need, Gifford has created the Morgan Orchards Senior Living Community, a multi-phased campus in Randolph Center. Sitting on beautiful meadows that look out over Braintree Hill and the Green Mountains, this 30-acre senior community is surrounded by orchards, berry patches, landscaped gardens, and trails for walking, biking, and snowshoeing.
Conveniently located right off Interstate 89, Morgan Orchards is within an hour of Burlington, VT and Hanover, NH. Randolph, home to many cultural events and concerts, and Gifford Medical Center is minutes away. The Vermont Technical College, with opportunities to audit courses, attend a sporting event, or swim in the six-lane, 25-yard pool, is within an easy walking distance.
In May 2015, Gifford’s award-winning Menig Nursing Home relocated to Morgan Orchards, serving as an anchor for a campus that will include apartments specifically designed for independent senior living. Future expansions include the addition of assisted living units.
Strode Independent Living
Our first independent living facility opened in August 2017!
Strode Independent Living offers a mix of 49-unit (studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments) designed to meet the specific needs of seniors. Shared living spaces include a library, fitness center, dining room, lounge, and community rooms.
The basic goal of independent living is to support seniors with services that help keep them safe and maximize their quality of life. Added services (medication management, assistance with meal preparation and daily tasks, registered nurse health monitoring) will be available so residents can remain in their apartments while recovering from illness or injury.
