Randolph, VT — Gifford has been included in Newsweek’s list of America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2026, recognizing the nation’s top-performing hospitals that deliver exceptional patient care and outcomes. This prestigious award, presented in collaboration with Statista—the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider—was announced on October 22, 2025, and can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
Proximity and access are of utmost importance when choosing a top hospital. The America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2026 ranking was created to identify the top hospitals at the state level. Hospitals from all U.S. states were eligible and included in the nationwide survey. Four data sources were used for the evaluation: Hospital Quality Metrics, Hospital Reputation, Patient Experience, and a Statista PROMS Implementation Survey. As a result, the 800 hospitals that scored the highest across these criteria were included on the list.
Gifford is honored to be recognized among the top hospitals in Vermont. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Critical Access Hospital, Gifford provides comprehensive health care across central Vermont through its Randolph campus and community health centers in Berlin, Bethel, Chelsea, Rochester, and Randolph. The organization is also home to the renowned Gifford Birthing Center, Menig Nursing Home, Adult Day Program, and Specialty Clinics that serve thousands of patients each year.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and compassion of our entire team,” said Michael Costa, CEO of Gifford. “Every person at Gifford—from our nurses and providers to our facilities and support staff—plays a role in delivering the high-quality, patient-centered care that our community depends on.”
This national recognition underscores Gifford’s commitment to improving and managing the health of the people it serves by providing and assuring access to affordable, high-quality care, and by promoting the health and well-being of everyone in its service area.
