RANDOLPH, Vt., Oct. 12, 2023—Photographs by Braintree resident David Olson are on display through Oct. 31 in the Gifford Gallery at Gifford Medical Center. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Olson, who moved to Vermont about eight years ago from Omaha, Neb., focuses on scenery and nature in his photography.
“New England has so much to offer, especially this time of year,” said Olson. “I have been fortunate enough to travel through much of the United States, and some of my photos show some of those areas.”
Olson’s interest in photography began in high school, with a film camera. Today he shoots with his smartphone.
“After a few years, my interest waned and then about 15 years ago, I started up again with a point-and-shoot digital camera and then I graduated to a Nikon DSLR about 10 years ago,” said Olson. “Three years ago, I put down that heavy camera and picked up an iPhone Pro Max. Most of these pictures were taken with the iPhone.”
When not photographing images, Olson can be found at Gifford, where he works in technology.
The Gifford Gallery is located just inside the hospital’s main entrance at 44 S. Main St., Route 12, in Randolph. Olson’s photographs may be purchased by emailing or by visiting the Gifford Development, Marketing and Public Relations Department, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 802-728-2380.
