Mobile dental clinic for children and adults expands services to Randolph
HealthHUB’s mobile dental hygiene facility has a new site in Randolph. Thanks to support from Gifford Health Care, a new electrical connection is being installed that will allow the facility to park at Gifford Medical Center in the lot behind the OB/Gyn building. The mobile facility – a trailer housing all of the equipment needed to clean teeth and take x-rays – will be in Randolph during school vacation week April 16 – 20, and again this summer. Clinic hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20. Services offered include cleaning, diagnostics, sealants, and fluoride varnishes, and referrals; to schedule an appointment call (802) 431-6060.
The HealthHUB trailer travels to area schools during the school year, providing care in Williamstown, Washington, Chelsea, Tunbridge, South Royalton, Sharon, South Strafford and Bethel. Expansion is expected to continue by adding schools sites in Rochester this spring and at the Randolph Elementary school in the fall. While HealthHUB has traditionally seen children during the school year, this past year it expanded the dental hygiene program to parents, grandparents, and other community members in the towns it serves.
“Working with Gifford Health Care to offer services in downtown Randolph during school vacations and the summer months will greatly enhance our program,” states Dr. Rebecca Foulk, HealthHUB’s Medical Director. “Our Registered Dental Hygienist Janine Reeves is looking forward to being busy year-round seeing all ages.”
HealthHUB’s mission includes increasing access to essential oral healthcare services. Transportation becomes less of a barrier to care when services are provided at school and as close to home as possible for adults. Preventative dental care does not replace seeing a dentist—Dental Hygienist Reeves will work with patients’ dentists for their continuum of care and help those without a dental home to find one.
