Nutrition and Food Services: The team that brightens our days, keeps us and our patients fed, sustains us with comfort food and kind words.
Knowing we’ll have something good to eat is an employee perk for those of us who work on our main campus, and hearing team members tell us about the daily specials is a highlight of any given day as we pass through the hot-lunch line.
On the patient side, in 2024, Nutrition and Food Services served 41,119 meals. But for our team, it’s about more than meal planning and prep.
“Food is a part of healing,” says Chef Supervisor Jen Lizotte. “My goal every day that I come in here is to provide a meal that leaves people full in their belly but also gives them a reset mentally. We don’t know what everyone is dealing with, but if we can lighten their day with a homemade meal, that’s what we’re going to do.”
Jen says the success of the kitchen is based on teamwork. “We have a large array of talent in the kitchen. Everyone brings something special to table.”
