RANDOLPH, Vt. — Connor Looney, PA-C, has joined Gifford Medical Center, serving on the Emergency Department team.
Looney brings more than 15 years of experience in emergency and urgent care, including over a decade at Mt. Ascutney Hospital & Health Center in Windsor and additional roles at Springfield Hospital and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He completed an Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma and burn center, and earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y.
Looney said he was drawn to Gifford for its community-focused care and collaborative environment.
“I like being able to see patients and help them in real time,” he said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to make a quick impact in people’s lives — to see something start to finish and know you’ve helped someone through a tough moment.”
He shared that connecting with patients is central to his practice.
“I try to meet patients where they are,” Looney explained. “Not everyone comes in at the same place in their health journey. It’s important to set realistic goals together and make sure we’re all working toward the same plan.”
Looney noted that the smaller community hospital model allows for close teamwork and meaningful relationships among staff and patients alike.
“There’s something special about smaller hospitals,” he said. “Everyone knows one another, understands what resources are available, and works together for what’s best for the patient.”
A resident of White River Junction, Looney lives with his wife Natalie, their two daughters (ages 11 and 9), and their dog, Lulu. He is an avid mountain biker, skier, and coach, and enjoys Vermont’s outdoor recreation opportunities.
