Central Vermont caregivers seeking support and advice are invited to join the Randolph Area Caregiver Support Group. The free group meets from 2 to 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month in the Conference Center at Gifford Medical Center.
Gifford Community Health Team Care Coordinators Kayla Thibault and Noreen Fordham facilitate the group. They offer participants opportunities to share information and tips; ideas on ways to manage their caregiving role; and a safe place to discuss the stresses, challenges, and rewards of providing care for a loved one.
Adult caregiving may include assistance with dressing, bathing, eating, medical care, housework, transportation, running errands, and other tasks. About 15 percent of adults in the United States “provide unpaid care of some kind to another adult, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.”

The Community Health Team at Gifford is part of Blueprint for Health, a state‐led initiative designed to provide coordinated health services that emphasize prevention and wellness. The team’s care coordinators assist people with identifying care issues and goals and with addressing challenges to accessing transportation, food, fuel, and housing assistance.
